Terms of use

The rules for using the anymate website (Nutzungsbedingungen). They are short, because the website is free and you do not need an account to use it.

01Scope

These terms apply to the use of the website at anymate.dev, including the 2D gallery and the interactive demos (the “website”). The website is provided by Robert Leonhard and Lucas Schwender Jain, Berlin (“anymate”, “we”); our full details are in the imprint. By using the website you agree to these terms.

The anymate app and its beta are not part of the website. If you get access to them, separate terms will apply, which we will show you before you use them.

02What the website shows

The website presents anymate and the research behind it. The demos, galleries, characters, animations and renders show the current state of our work. They are examples, not promises of particular results or features, and they may change. Media marked “to be supplied” is a reserved slot, not product output.

03Our content and rights

The texts, images, videos, characters, animations, software and other content of the website, and the anymate name and logo, belong to us or to our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view the website and use its interactive demos for your personal information. Any other use, in particular copying, distributing, publishing or editing the content, or using it to train machine-learning models, needs our prior written consent, except where the law expressly allows it.

04Using the website fairly

When you use the website, please do not:

  • interfere with its operation or security, or try to get around its protections;
  • access it with bots, scrapers or other automated means in a way that puts an unreasonable load on it;
  • submit the Early Access form with other people’s details or in bulk.

05Early Access

Signing up for Early Access is free and does not create a contract or a right to access the anymate app. It only means we will tell you when anymate launches. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.

06Availability and changes

We work to keep the website available, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, extend, restrict or take down the website or parts of it at any time.

The website links to other websites, such as our social media profiles. Their operators are responsible for their content and their terms apply there.

08Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz). For slight negligence we are liable only if we breach an obligation whose fulfilment is essential to the proper use of the website and on which you may regularly rely (a cardinal obligation, Kardinalpflicht), and then only for the foreseeable damage typical of such a breach. Otherwise our liability for slight negligence is excluded. These limits also apply to the personal liability of our employees, representatives and agents.

09Privacy

The privacy policy explains how we process personal data, and the cookie policy what the website stores in your browser.

10Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the website gains new features. The version on this page applies from the date it is published.

11Applicable law and jurisdiction

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside. If you are a merchant (Kaufmann), a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is Berlin.
